Hi, new here and was hoping I could get some gentle feedback about what I did wrong. I can not find a definitive answer as to whether I for sure need to use KOH and not lye in the making of liquid soap. It cooked for over 6 hrs and I had to go to bed. This mornuing I have a crock pot full of a moist powder not even a paste now... can anyone help me?? please!!

Potassium Hydroxide (KoH) is used for liquid soap making and Sodium Hydroxide (NaoH) is used for bar soap making.

I am assuming you were making liquid soap. Usually, you only need to cook the soap for 3-4 hours. Not having seen your recipe, it is hard to critique your soap. Here is a link with instructions on making liquid soap in the crockpot.
