I had a post last night with the lovely color wile it was cooking.

I don't know for sure what happened but I have a guess. This is my carrot juice Lemon Honey HP soap. I used the same base I always do for my HP

30% Olive
30%Palm
40%lard

I used all carrot juice for the liquid and added 1 cup shredded carrot to the oils wile they heated. After it cooked I added Honey and Lemon E.O. separated it into two batches added shredded loofah to one put that on the bottom, did a cocoa pencil line second layer another line and the third layer. Then I just set it on the counter like I always do and when I cut it this morning it looked like that....:problem::problem:

I like the look I just don't know why that happened. My only guess was that it was too hot and it burned the sugar in the second batch and somehow mixing the loofah in the first batch lowered the temp just enough. It smells like honey lemon tea, not burnt though..

Any Guess?

It's three different colors and I didn't color any of it. lol I really like how it turned out but until I can figure out how I messed it up, so that that happened I won't be able to recreate that effect

Wait, you mean, you didn't intend for the bottom layer to be yellow, and the top two to be brownish? And nothing was different about those three layers? All you intended was the pencil line? Now that IS indeed interesting.

Everything was the same other than I mixed shredded Loofah into the bottom layer in the mold. No idea lol

I can't imagine how the loofah could manage to "cause" the yellow, while the rest remains darker, yet, that seems to be the only explanation. I wonder if anyone else has experiences regarding loofah and color.
