The loaf is still really light but im assuming that it will darken up. If not ill just have to try again with darker brown sugar ;)

lovely textured top , i would have to say its the best top on a soap i've seen .... flowing and clean , just lovely . congrats on a good loaf .

oooh, did you say sugar? I've always wanted to do a sugar soap. I keep seeing salt bars but I think sugar would be more my taste :)

xD Thank you everyone! I was so nervous! I've never herd of anyone doing this before and I couldn't find any information about putting brown sugar in soap. But I'm very happy with the outcome!

How did you end up incorporating the brown sugar? I know you were talking about adding it at trace, but I wasn't sure how that turned out for you. Trace & sugar usually = overheat for me.

I added the brown sugar/cream mixture once the oil and water seemed to be completely mixed together, When i tried this earlier in the week I added just the sugar at trace and about the only good that came from that is i could see large areas of the soap were the brown sugar didn't mix into, and I wanted to make sure that the sugar would be fully incorporated to the soap, This recipe seemed to take forever to get to trace.
Then I just stuck it onto my drafty kitchen window and didn't insulate it.
I'm just too impatient for the freezer and fridge method to prevent gelling.

How much sugar did you use? Does it give your soap a scrubby texture?

It shouldnt give a scrubby texture because I made sure that the sugar was completely dissolved before I added it, and then i strained it while i was putting it in the mold so there would be no sugar chunks in the soap, I used 6 oz of golden brown sugar.

sounds so nice! I cant wait to hear how you like it!

6.oz of brown sugar .......? please whenever you use it you got to tell/or show me the lather. my mind is telling me rich creamy lather, like over flowing . its a lovely site to behold. i will keep my eyes and ears peeled for when you use it and can tell me :)
Congrats again on a lovely soap.
