I know I say a post about someones soap flowing over the sides of the mold. I can not find it using the search. This happened to me today and would like to find out why. If you want to answer my question you are welcome to but if you know how I can find the post that would be great too.

Thanks and sorry for the duplicate question.

The only time I had that happen was with my first batch of soap and I didn't check the temperature I should have used! I soaped at too high a temperature and it volcanoed - I managed to shove it all back into my mold, and I'm still using that soap over a year and a half later.

Thank you I remember seeing that same answer on the other post. I think my oil was too hot when I mixed it with the milk and lye.

I was able to put most of the soap in another mold (that I was intending to use to make another batch so hopefully I was able to save it and maybe get another batch out of it.

Yep over heated. I was trying a new fragrance oil and his happened to me. It was so gross because the color of the oil was red and the color of the soap was like a bloated dead persons arm on CSI when the body had been there for a while - when I looked at it and saw that I almost vomited. I unlolded and it then sunk - it looked gross smelled gross and I threw it out. ewwwwwww ... lol sorry so graphic!
