I have some Australian Bush Flower essence mists that have been in my fridge for ages, not sure if anyone will be familiar with them they make rescue remedy etc. Anyway, its just crossed my mind to put them in soap, not sure how they would go, could be disasterous.... ingredients on the bottles say: purified water, polysorbate20, vegetable glycerin, sodium benzoate plus a whole bunch of flower extracts and essential oils.... what do you reckon.....

This is just my opinion, but I feel they will disappear in CP soap - the lye monster will get them as they are quite delicate. If you HP you could add some after the cook and see if you notice anything as far as scent goes? Same deal with M&P - add them before pouring. Good luck!

I presume it's not the scent you're after but the qualities in the bush essence. As they have been in your fridge for ages, they are probably not active any more anyway. I personally wouldn't bother as I don't think the lye will be kind to it.

I havent used them because i don't really like the smell of them haha but i just hate wasting anything so was thinking maybe putting them in the soap would be a good way to use them up, they're actually good for about another year still according to their use by date. I think you might be right though about the lye being hard on them, i was actually more worried about the alcohol or whatever that is in them seizing the soap, maybe i'll just hand mill them afterwards to add it in....hmmmm
