Does anyone know where I can buy castor oil in bulk for a reasonable price in Europe?

what is a good price for castor oil?

The following, all based in the UK, have reasonably priced castor oil (all run approx 5-7 pounds/liter):

www.soapbasics.co.uk

www.gracefruit.com

www.justasoap.co.uk

www.thesoapkitchen.co.uk

The last one has *slightly* higher prices, but lower shipping costs so I generally order from them (for shipping outside of the UK... I live in Italy and thus ship it here). Of the others, I have also ordered from Gracefruit, and was pleased with what they sent me.

I have spent more hours than I care to think about searching for European suppliers of oils, and the UK suppliers, even with shipping, come out much cheaper, and with a good quality. Now, if someone has a decently priced European source for fairtrade oils/butters, I really *really* want to know about it!

(edited to add: Where I live in NW Italy, castor oil costs 9 euros for 100 ml. That is NOT a good price. I consider under 10 euros per liter to be a good price. I literally pay 10x as much locally as from the UK!!!)

Jezzy,

I'm in Southern France- about 1 hr away from Montpelier.

Thanks fiddletree,

I spent the so much time looking for a bulk supplier for castor oil on the net and all I ever get is BULK suppliers who sell by the ton! (alibaba)

Where I am, castor oil costs 2.50e for about 60ml (it could have been 100ml but I don't think so) at the pharmacy. If I compare this to the states, it's expensive. But for Europe, I have no idea how much it should/could be.

German stores

I ordered from both shops and the service, quality and prices are very good.

Castor oil (Rizinusöl) 1 Liter 8,90

www.behawe.com

has the fastest delivery within Europe. I have the treasures :D in 3 days.

If there are problems with translation, I love to help out :D

I like behawe better than manske. It is more convient. With manske she has no way to pay right away and you have to wait for a conformation email. Which is why I don't order there often. But... She has a great price for palm oil and jojoba.
@soap25 wo bist du?

I am from Austria and had never problems with ordering and paying with both shop.

No, paying is easy. Everytime I order i have to wait for a bill before I can pay I love it that I can pay right away at behawe. I do the most ordering at gracefruit and sensoryperfection though.

Thanks so much for all the info. Now I don't have to worry about getting all my things from the states and paying a fortune for my hobby (no yet a business).
Thanks again guys.
:D

Don't be afraid to ask if you need anything else. I have done a lot of cruising the web looking for the best prices

Hi carolyntn,

Thanks for Arioma Zone, I don't know of many good websites (in general) for ordering my soaping supplies. I have to bookmark all the websites that have been mentioned in order to check them out.

Wow, I am really happy to find out about aroma zone! Good EO selection, and their glass cream jars are *exactly* what I have been searching for, except for the price being 4x what it should be. Won't be able to order w/o my husband, as he is the French speaker, but good source.

try also to siederei.com in Germany, it is a distiller.
Nice choice of essential oils of and low price for castor oils.
cheers

Don't you just love AromaZone?!!!! I spend way too much money there! I have never had any problems with them - just great products that arrive in fabulous condition. Also they do have the website translated into English - but it is not complete as the French part.

Carolyn :D
