Bubbles for kids?

My kids want bubbles for their bath but I don't like buying the commercial stuff with chemicals.

I was thinking about bath bombs but after they fizz the fun is over right?

So, without lots of chemicals, is their a fairly natural way to make bubbles in the bathtub? I'm thinking....no?

Artisan, the food coloring and FO does sound like fun. Maybe I can convince the kids they don't have to have bubbles.

That bath jelly thing does look fun. I think I'm still confused on what it does though. Does it actually bubble or ????....

I think it's just colourful gloopy soap.Im thinking you could play around with consistency & get slime.Fun fun fun!

My kids got bath time fun package of stuff. So, I can tell you what was in it. There wasn't anything bubbly unfortunately.
So, it had bath bombs and one fun thing was that in middle of it there was a capsule (gelatinous stuff that surrounds medication). When it melted out popped a tiny sponge in shape of a dolphin.

Then it had colored tiny rocks that crackled when I put it in water. I bet something similar as those candies that we ate as kids that were popping and crackling in our mouth. They didn't make water colored.

Then colored tablets that fizzed and made water colored.

The last thing is colored liquid soap.

Just so you get some ideas.

•2 cups of Soap flakes or grated soap
1 gallon (4 litres) of water
1/4 cup of glycerin
2 cups of Shampoo or dish washing detergent
Scented oils of your choice
Time: 30 minutes - 1 hour
Suitable For: Most Ages


Mix the soap flakes with the water.

Then add 2 tbs of glycerin into a saucepan and
place on a low heat.
Stir occasionally until the soap has dissolved.
In a large bowl, add about 2 cups of this mixture to the rest of the glycerin and shampoo. Add a
few drops of your scented oil.

Put it all into a nice storage container.

Add 1/2 cup to your running bath water.

For the shampoo could you use home made liquid soap? (which I still need to learn to make)

I was thinking that kids might enjoy some handmade liquid soap colored with a little food coloring and diluted for a foamer application. It's not long-lasting bubbles in the tub but at least it gives a foamy effect that they can put onto themselves (just gotta watch the eyes, ow!)
