This doesn't help with the borax problem, sorry, but I have used 30/30/30/10 palm oil (your crisco I think?)/conconut oil/olive oil/castor oil. 5% SF.It makes a hard bar that a farmer friend of mine and a tradesman love because it gets their hands clean. No EDTA or ROE necessary.It might be somewhere to start.
