here are the pix of my two swirl attempts: i was too afraid to touch the tops of these.....maybe next time i'll be brave enough to add saran wrap....

funnel:

this one started to thick up on me but i just kept pouring and moved fast as i could. i think i saved it....we'll see how it cuts...i'm SO glad i didn't use FO!! these actually sort of resemble swirls....thanks so much to everyone who gave me advice on this....i have a long way to go but this is a start! i'll post cut pix tomorrow....

Nice swirls and colors. way to go
What kind of blue did you use ? If you don't mind me asking?

kitn:

i tried out my new ultramarine blue oxide powder from brambleberry. i didn't realize how strong this powder is....i have enough to last quite some time. i wanted to get a fairly dark color so it would show up against the uncolored soap. the funnel swirl i think i didn't use as much and so it appears to be a bit lighter than the second loaf. or maybe the funnel loaf blue looks lighter because a layer a ash is forming...cuz i did pour that loaf first....

i used approx 1/2 tsp powder in 1 oz warmed oil. the first loaf i made w/ cocoa butter, jojoba oil, grade a olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil. for the second loaf i used mango butter in place of the cocoa butter and almond oil in place of the jojoba.....
