Gave birth to a 17.5 pound slab of soap last night. Name: Bamboo. Father's name: Candora Soap and Soap Supplies.

I thought I'd just sneak this one by without fanfare. The Bamboo scent was incredible but, talk about a fast trace! I didn't have soap on a stick but came close. We tried to do a simple ITP design - yellow pot and green accent, like the two principal colors of bamboo. Never really got a chance to incorporate the yellow into the pot - it became too thick. It's probably a FO that doesn't need a stick blender.

Checked it this morning, 12 hours after the delivery - it was still in full gel phase - 115F (46C) degrees and the color was nothing like the 2 colors we used.

As one of the reviewers said, "Normally I wouldn't put up with this much trouble from a FO, but the scent is so fantastic, I still use it."

I didn't take any pictures of last night's mayhem, but I will post some after the circumcision.

The yellow turned orange immediately on contact with the batter. I am expecting it to turn back into yellow with time. The green also turned into a weird shade. I used a Forest Green from Brambleberry. Anyway, not to worry. I will keep you well posted. I'd invite you to the Baptism, but you probably live too far away. ;)
It's been about 22 hours since the pour and the slab is still hot (97ºF - 36ºC) and very soft. I will take pics when the times comes. I can't imagine what the cut will look like. Thank goodness at least the scent is so delightful.

The soap is cut. Just to summarize, it was an ITP swirl. Yellow was the pot color and forest green was the pouring color. The scent was Bamboo from Candora Soap. The batch went to heavy trace in no time flat. We BARELY had time to do the swirl and for the pouring into the mold, it was almost a big orange and green glob. It went through a serious gel. When it came time to cut, the orange disappeared and the yellow came back. Still, I wish it was darker. Time may be on my side, though. I just put it in my super-duper soap dryer where it will remain undisturbed for 6 weeks.
OK. Here are some pics. I think the yellow comes out more in the last two group photos.

I know that the yellow blobs are more an accident than anything else. But still I think they fit well into the general æsthetics if you think about them as “grass stem nodes”. And for an outsider, the colour scheme is a perfect fit to bamboo!

@Zany_in_CO I am a nurse in a hospital and my co-workers are dying to get some of my bars. Especially with Christmas coming, so they say.

I am going to have to modify my soaping practices. I'll have to make much smaller batches. The way I am going, it doesn't take long before you end up with hundreds of bars.

Was it buttercup yellow from Bramble Berry?

The yellow turned orange immediately on contact with the batter.

Had that happen the first time I used a yellow mica. I actually cried I used a Lemon EO...not cheap. When hubby came home, I was so depressed and took him to the garage to show him my utter failure...my orange soap that smelled like lemons. Imagine my surprise when I lifted up the towel and it was yellow!
