Beer soap has become my obsession this weekend. I have 2 batches made previously, the first one with Sam Adams dark lager, the second with Heiniken Dark Lager. Both turned out great. Family and friends loved up the first batch until I had no more left and the second one is still curing.
Is it essential to use a dark lager? What are the differences in the soap quality between dark lager and regular? I'm not a beer drinker so I don't really know the first thing about beer.
I am planning to soap with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale this weekend. I want to do a whipped batch, since that is my other obsession. It isn't a really pale beer, though. It's lighter than the dar lager, but way darker than bud light.
I also have a Sam Adams Summer Ale that I haven't used yet. I was thinking when I run out of the beer that people have given me perhaps making a batch out of some cheap redneck beer and using my cannibus scent and calling it "suds and buds".
