I want to make beer soap in the spirit of Arizona's Beer Week next week. This is only for my own amusement and use! But I would love some feed back as I only have 5 batches of soap under my belt and this will be my first beer soap.

40% Palm Oil
25% CO
15% OO pomace
10% Grapeseed Oil
5% Castor Oil
5% Shea

I have read up on the beer soap discussions that I could find on the forum and I think I will be freezing the beer prior to soaping. Any other ideas or suggestions?

What do you think of this recipe?

Thanks for your time and experience!!

you need to boil down the beer before you do anything else... :D
or at least get rid of the alcohol anyways...

I do boil down the beer (a 12 ounce can ends up being 60-100 grams). I add the concentrated boiled down beer at trace. However, others have mentioned simply letting the beer go flat for a week or so in the fridge and using it instead of water. I've never tried it that way. My beer soap is a big hit with everyone - hope it turns out great!

I didn't boil mine down. I just poured it into a bowl and sat it in the fridge for a week. And one bottle ended up not being enough so I topped it off with fresh beer. I used a plastic tea pitcher to mix my lye and beer (in the sink!). I added the lye to the beer and it was fine. I made that soap about 5 days ago and tried it out yesterday. It's great! Still has a little bit of the beer smell, but I expect that to cure out.
