Beer soap color differences?

I'm working on developing a Butter Beer soap, and have been struggling with coloring consistency. Has anyone run across this problem when making beer soap? These two batches had the same exact recipe, but different brands of Ale were used. Also, in the darker batch, Butterscotch FO was used throughout. In the lighter batch, FO was only added to the top color. When I poured these batches, the soap batter looked exactly the same... But the darker one became much darker over time, and the lighter one was shockingly paler after unmolding than it was when poured. Was the variance caused by Beer or FO?

If your FO has any vanilla in it, that would be my first suspect.

I would guess the differences in the type of beer you're using I have made two recipes using the same type of beer and they came out exactly the same color. I did not try using any color I just use the natural color of the beer. The Beer I used was made by founders and it was called dirty bastard. By the way I love the way your Soap looks.

I would also say that the color is from the FO.

different beers and different fo can certainly make color differences. If you are comparing the color from beer to beer you would need to make the exact same recipe with same fo and different beers, then you will know what the different beers will do.
