I've bought some of this before and love it. I can't find any sort of ingredients list except "This skin softening scrub combines exfoliating Sugar and a special moisturizing blend of sunflower, safflower, sweet almond and jojoba oils to leave skin silky smooth."

The sugar and oil separates between uses and needs to be stirred each time, making me think there's less chemicals than other emulsified products, so I'm thinking I can go a step further and eliminate any doubt of chemicals and make it myself.

How much of each oil should I use, and when should I add the sugar...and should I add anything else?

I'd say this is something you'll have to experiment with and try different percentages of each oil in each batch. Ingredients are supposed to be listed on the label according to weight/percentages.

So, I'd say try sunflower as the largest percentage, safflower next largest percentage, etc and jojoba as the smallest amount. Or you could add them all in at 25%. But I seriously doubt there would be 25% jojoba in the scrub since it's so expensive. I'd personally start with jojoba at 5% and work up from there. Add the sugar after you've blended your oils.

I make my own scrub with brown sugar and coffee. I add luxurious oils like Baobab and Tamanu, a couple of drops of EOs and voilà!

Since this is for me, I only make as much as I need and I always have a bottle with oils to slather on after the shower so if my scrub gets 'too dry', I pour some more oil in it - not very scientific, but it works for me!
