Hello! I have a question about my bath bombs recipe.

I followed and modified Anne-Marie's (soapqueen.com) bath bomb recipe:
2 Cups Sodium Bicarb
1 Cup Citric Acid
1/2 Cup Epsom Salt
3 Tbsp Kaolin Clay
1 Tbsp Sweet Almond Oil
1 1/2 Tsp of fragrance Oil
10 Drops of Carrier Oil (Argan)

This recipe seemed to work until recently, all my bombs have started to crack around the ring. I use christmas ornament balls to mold them, and it's cracking where the balls seal. I'm also having an issue with the durability, they all seem to be too soft and easily breakable.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've been mindful of the weather when I make my bombs, and my home is kept at around 70 degrees, to hopefully keep humidity out. I live in East Texas, which automatically kinda makes it hard to make these without problems, but I let my bombs dry in the oven overnight to seal out any moisture.

Thanks in advance.

I use this recipe with cocoa butter. It always works for me. You can leave out the surfactant.

Thanks for the video. Maybe I'll have to invest in some Cream of Tartar and SLS/A.

I"m just so baffled as to why this recipe works for my other bombs but this batch just came out wrong.
