Hi all,

I'm trying my hand at bath bombs and I'm having the hardest time. I'm hoping you ladies can help me.

I'm down to my last 4oz or so of citric acid until my order arrives. And I can't get my bombs to stay together...I've now gotten the bombs to keep its structure for about two days but after that a good squeeze will turn my creation into dust...literally! Help, what can I do?

My ingredients are:
1 prt cornstarch
1 prt citric acid
2 pts baking soda
1/2 prt epsom salts
witch hazel as needed
fixed oil (occasionally)- 1 ml per pound

I live in the bahamas by the way.

i had the same issues as you in my old house and i was using almost the same recipe.
i just did my first few batches of bombs without the dust thing and i cut my recipe down to baking soda, citric acid and oil. guess what? they worked like a charm and i have rock hard bombs... try to simplify. it maybe that you dont have enough wet stuff to cement your bombs together... i dont know...
oh and if it is humid there, that might be your problem too.

Thanks

I cut out the cornstarch and it did work like a charm last night...but I also got use to wetting the ingredients heavily, to the extreme even and that doesn't work so well. I got premature explosion, lol. Thanks for the advice and I can't wait to make more!
