Why do my bath bombs explode into a poof of bubbles over the bath bomb when applied into a bath tub?

I know SLSA will make the bubbles but other people's bath bombs go in the water and they foam and fizz and spin but my bath bombs when entered into water go in and immediately the part of the bath bomb that is out of the water (because it floats) is covered in a layer of bubbles and the bath bomb is just floating.... And after a while the bath bomb gets away from that layer they it starts to spin... I don't want that layer over my bombs how do I get rid of it?

I don't know the answer. but I saw a tutorial on making them spin. They made a small bomb, and then added on to the first bomb. If that's what you mean and no one answers, try googling it. Mine don't spin, but I like mine to foam with milk and bubbles.

How close to the surface are your embeds? One option could be to make sure they aren't covered and see what happens. Do your bombs "bounce" when you drop them in the tub? What shapes are your bombs in?

I don't use embeds, so I haven't had the same issue your having. These are just the variables I can think of that might effect things.

slsa is only to make bubbles, like you average shower gel. The reaction you describe is from the reaction between the baking soda and the citric acid. Can you tell me what your recipe is? Other things may contribute to what you are describing.

I would make one with ONLY baking soda and citric acid, perhaps some fragrance, and test it. You cn make bath bombs with just those two things.

they spin when you do insert embeds which are usualy Bs, Ca and bonder 1:1 the difference in proportions will move the bb. Then you need to put them in special order to make it spin fast .........a bit of trying

Not to argue, but Dahila, does the spinning not have to do with the shape? I made round ones in the past without embeds, and they spin.
