K-I tried my hand at a bath bomb, but not knowing exactly what I am actually looking for, I think I flopped. It definitely fizzed, but not like I was anticipating. Oh yeah, my bath tub is green. AND I have white towels and bathmats. I was pretty worried getting out of the tub  I rinsed well before touching anything white!

So, I guess I need to try some bath bombs so I can see what all the talk is about! I used my soap coloring oxide. I also made a smaller bar at 2 oz and have a large jet tub. Probably makes a diff.

Is the idea being the fizz AND the ingredients to the skin?

Thanks!

If your green oxide is anything like my green oxide, I would hate to see the mess you have right now  That stuff sticks to everything if I mix more than i use!

Yes, the idea is that you get a fun, lovely smelling bath that does great things for your skin. This is a really good tutorial video:

Bath bombs are an art. Some people can make them, some can't. I can't :( In 2 years, I have had one successful batch!

What are you putting in your bombs? I never use corn starch, it never worked for me. Maybe some Kaolin Clay? I use a water based color like Wilton gel colors.

WAY cheaper at craft store or Walmart. One more thing I learned about bombs off the internet. If clay is used, put some rubbing alcohol in spray bottle. I have never activated the CA using this tequnique. AND I'm tellin' you.. the hardest balls around! I'm having trouble uploading pics of my bath bombs..

I hope this was helpful!

Thanks all! I actually did watch that You-tube video from Coastal, which was what I was hoping for. The bars were rock hard and fizzed, but I think I was expecting more.

I used:
1/2 C citric acid
1 C baking soda
1/2 C Corn starch
1/2 C Epsom
1/4 tsp Borax
1 Tbs Sweet Almond oil
Chamomile/bergamont E/O
GREEN oxide (OOPS)

I used baking soda out of my kitchen, which might have been old. Would that make a difference???
