I just made a batch using the same recipe I always use except a different color. I used 1 tsp crafters choice bath bomb red powder color
here is the recipe 24.46 oz water,273 gr lye, 4 oz castor oil, 21 oz coconut oil, 25 oz palm oil 17 oz olive oil I mixed the color in the lye water
and at slight trace added 1 5/8 oz crafters choice forever red fragrance oil
I mixed with a stick blender, it took a while to trace it wasn't all that thick I poured it anyway it looks as if it stuck in gel. it has oil oozing out sort of firm hold its shape but soft. What went wrong, any suggestions

I don't know. The lye amount is fine for the oils. You mentioned you added the FO at light trace. There are a few FOs which reverse trace. I've never used Forever Red FO but it might be one of them. Did you zap test the oil which is oozing out?

On the other hand, the palm is slightly over 37 percent and the coconut is slightly over 31. You said it took awhile to trace. What temp did you blend your oils and lye solution? Could you have actually had false trace?

This is just a suggestion but you could put it in a crockpot or double boiler and cook it .

The temp was about 110 on lye and 105 on oils I've used this fragrance oil before worked fine the only difference was less palm oil and more olive oil previous batch was 21 oz each

The temps are a little on the cool side but not by much. However, it would have continued cooling as you blended and you did say it took awhile. However, I can't say that's the problem and I'm not sure what the issue is since you said it wasn't the FO.

Did you zap test the oil? When did you make this batch? The oil may just need a few days to absorb if you made the batch recently and the oil is zap free.

Maybe someone else will know what the problem is but you might have to be patient about a reply.

Did it seem ok until you unmolded (after you got it to trace)? Because I swear that looks like a batch that overheated.

You stated that the batch was oozing oil, perhaps it is the fragrance oil. If that is the case, it should reabsorb as the soap cures. And it does look like the soap overheated.
