Hey guys!

So I've gotten inspiration from the last thread on soap balls, but this isn't really about that. I am having major problems incorporating colour into raw soap.

I've started using the lye solution methods and its worked but I would like to make several different types of soap balls in assorted colours to use in my other soap creations. So the best way to do that is to split up the soap and colour it.

Someone please help...I can't say I've experiment much in this area because i keep getting coloured bubbles :| and don't know where I'm going wrong. I've even tried using Castor or glycerin to incorporate with the same results.

I'm at a lost.

Sure wish I could help you. I'm new at this and just ordered my first ultramarine dyes. Will be intersted to hear the advice you get from more seasoned soapers.

How much colorant are you using? I'm justa newbie too but I think if your bubbles are colored you used too much. I've only used oxides in soap onece bit I know it doesn't take much.

Yup! If you are getting colored bubbles you are using too much. What type and how much colorant are you using?

That maybe true, I'm using oxides as well. I do put a bit much. How much should I be using?

Ok, I don't use that much, but I am having a issue incorporating it. I guess I will experiment more.

I know most soapers think colored bubbles are terrible, and you certainly don't want soap that will leave your skin or washcloths stained, but I have to say I and my kids kind of like it when one of our experiments results in colored bubbles! I don't try to do it on purpose, but I find that sometimes my brown soaps will bubble tan. They smell great, though, so I don't mind!
