I ordered some one ounce scents from sinfulscents4u on etsy following another SMF member's excitement about this supplier. That member was disappointed and I am too, so I am sharing my experience so others can decide for themselves if its worth it to them .

I ordered from three different etsy merchants on Mar 27. By April 2nd I had received my other two orders. On April 1 sinfulscents4u marked the package shipped. When it didn't arrive within a couple of days like the other packages, I asked for a tracking number. This was April 4. No response. April 5th followed up again, no response. Finally April 6th I sent her a message saying basically, "hey you said customers can ask for tracking numbers. This is my third attempt at obtaining that number, and you have not been responsive. If I don't hear from you today I will start procedures for a refund since this is obviously a fraudulent transaction."

She got the tracking number on April 6th, but when I checked it against the USPS tracking, she had only mailed it that day. That means she marked it shipped April 1st but had not shipped it. I had to threaten her to get any kind of response.

Now, the scents arrived today, April 8. They have hardly any smell. The fake chemical smell present in some FO's is the dominant note in all of these. I feel these scents are not of a quality for soaping and will not survive saponification. They are of a lower grade, either cut with something, or a basic grade, not a manufacturing grade. I have not yet decided if I will try to send them back or use them for something else.

I left negative feedback for her on Etsy and plan on telling the Etsy team my suspicion of fraud going on with this merchant. I checked her feedback closely today and a number of transactions have the exact same feedback, item after item after item. Just seems wrong somehow. Like a copy and paste, over and over again. That said she has over 600 transactions and only 2 negative feedback, so if you think of ordering from her, weigh it all out before you do.

Holy cow! I checked out her stats & they've got 618 sales in less than 4 months?
I think this is the supplier that I contacted & asked if they supplied the IFRA certificates for any of the fo's. I was told no, but someone else was told yes. :eh:

I had thought to mention she had so many sales in such a short time ( forgot the short time and it's really only 3 months), but I notice she pays for sponsored listing and is up in traffic, so it is an actual possibility she is doing well. Maybe that is why some transactions get away from her, if she is doing so much volume. I just personally doubt the legitimacy of that volume, lol. There is another supplier on Etsy with a similar name, just SinfulScents. I wonder if that is who you mean. I have not asked for IFRA certificates before now, I didn't think I needed to since I'm not yet selling. What a pain though, if I like a scent and can't get one. Headdesk. Thanks Genny. ;-)

I can relate with shotty customer service. Concerning that stupid soap cutter I got, I filled out two contact forms and nothin. Plus I tried calling the number today too and not only did i let it ring a couple minutes, there wasnt even a voicemail. How do businesses NOT have a voicemail? Anyway, im about to go to Paypal with this. It's been three days and i hate being wrongfully ignored

Nope, I just double checked my email & see her name's Kia. The one you dealt with is definitely the supplier that we were talking about before.

IFRA certificates really have nothing to do with if you're selling or not, it's how you can make sure that you're not exceeding the fragrance limit that's set because of the ingredients that make up the fragrance oil.
So that way you don't end up getting an irritating rash by using 5% of an fo, when the limit is .5%

Yes, this is the person who I dealt with, too. She gave me a huge run-around about shipping the items. I filed for my money back thru paypal and she refunded me the same day. She stood by her story that they were shipped but still never gave me the tracking number. I did end up getting the package along with a massive hung of soap but the postmark was AFTER she refunded my money...which is really confusing to me. Anyways, it's all a loss because I had to order the exact same ones somewhere else when I thought they werent coming in. About half I will not use because I don't like them at all and I REALLY hope that the shipment I have coming in from SOS are NOT the same...because if they are they SUCK and will have to go back (if they even take returns!)

Oh, by the way....she told me that she DOES provide the certificate upon request...but I didn't ask for it.

Well that's just the point isn't it, if you ARE selling you want to make sure everything is legit. Actually even if you aren't, so you don't get rashes like you mentioned. I should start asking for those. Le sigh. I hate wasting time/money.
