Have been volunteering with the huge baby flamingo rescue and hand rearing project.
Let it be said that there is absolutely NO soap that can remove the smell of flamingo poo out of clothing, So i have taken to doing a final rinse in vinegar.
Any farmers or animal hand rearing volunteers out there got any ideas.
I use my hand made Coffee and Cinnamon soap for body washing - which i sell for aiding in Cellulite removal - it works great to get that poo smell from your hands and nails.
Baby birds are soooooooo not cute anymore.

Cool gig. They eat krill...a kind of fish? So maybe a laundry derg that somene in the fishing industry uses.

The babies are currently on a mix of boiled egg yolk, sardine fillet, baby shrimp and some calcium powder. I have to say the food making process is just wonderful hahahaha.
The big birds at the park we are at (we are at the backkkkk of the park though) are on a specially formulated flamingo feed with extra shrimp (the red in the shriimp is what makes them turn pink).
Dont whales eat krill?
But another vent I will have is the attitude of 80% volunteers that only want to cuddle and do the pretty work - when you volunteer is ugly, dirty, nasty, hot and 90% is cleaning, 5% is food prep and maybe if you are inclined then 5% actual feeding. The majority of people seem to think that when they volunteer they can float in and just do what they want to do - basically we are there to help the actual vets, zookeepers and the biologists.
The first time my friend and I arrived there - we juist walked in and started cleaning up flamingo poo (and theres a LOT) - the workers loved us instantly.
Maaaybe - we will get the chance to bottle feed snow leopards (a dream) but I doubt it.
The most important work is done by volunteers and we are needed.
Hahahah - So this time - soap really is for cleaning!!
