Wonder if there is any reason I cannot use all babassu oil in soap, instead of coconut. Does babassu oil dry the skin same as coconut?

YES, use it as all your cleansing, bubble making oils. I LOVE it so much. It is a bit more expensive than coconut oil, so I do it 50/50 with CO. I think it is less itchy than CO.

It makes a very white bar.

Paul

Dang, you newer soapers are kicking us older soapers butts  as far as coming up with great numbers for your recipes!!! All I have to say Phillip is; "cut, copy & print!" Looks good my man! 8) Very good. My numbers are only a few away in every area, good job. :D

ETA--Did you mean to say FCO or just coconut oil? Save your FCO for leave on applications.

Paul...

Your numbers look good, but I'm with Paul. Save your FCO and use plain CO.

I am very interested in using sugar for bubbles, can you pls tell me how to do it?

Thanks
Sure. I use about 1 tablespoon per pound of oil. I mix into my distilled water, heat it up in the micro, make sure it is complete dissolved and then cool it down (freezer works well). Once it is COLD add your lye and mix and soap as usual.

What kind of sugar do you use? Brown, cane or any type of sugar?

Thanks

I think I'll try the sugar with this recipe. Lots O bubbles makes me feel like a kid again.

The stickiness in the sugar must make for a tougher surface tension or something.

I love babassu and use it often! I don't like it a;one, though. I think it is another one of those oils, like castor, that needs a partner (coconut in this case).

according to my Soapmaker program, it behaves very similarly to coconut, but is slightly superior to it in all its properties.
