Hello everyone,
I'm looking for a yummy autumn soap to make. Lots of people have been asking me for pumpkin spice, apple pie, etc., but I don't use fragrance oils. Does anyone have a favorite combo they use for autumn, scenting with essential oils? I'm thinking gingerbread using cinnamon and ginger. Someone told me they like citrus and cinnamon- an orange and cinnamon maybe?
Thoughts?

Cinnamon, ginger, allspice and nutmeg make up pumpkin spice using these EOs with a little pumpkin puree for color would be cool. The pumpkins scent wouldn't come through but the color of it would almost make people think it is.

watch out for cin eo!!!! it is very skin sensitive, i wouldnt even use it in soap.

Cinnamon can irritate some people. I am sensitive to cinnamon EO on my skin even diluted. But I had a few different people request cinnamon soap, so I made some with .5 oz ppo and no one, not even me, has had a problem with it. Apparently these cinnamon lovers have tried cinnamon soaps elsewhere. I think there is just too much else going on in soap for the EO to be a problem. But it is worth stating to people using it that they may want to try it on hands or less sensitive skin first. I did buy cinnamon FO and it smells exactly the same so if it comes out in the soap the same I will probably use that instead because it's cheaper.

zum bar makes a cinnamon soap, smells awesome and doesn't bother my skin at all. it has a warning on it that says "don't use if you have sensitive skin" or something like that. just wanted to include this to say, it can be used in soap, just watch your amounts. yes, it can irritate skin.

Maybe that is what my cinnamon soap requesters used. Cinnamon was no where on my list of soaps I wanted to make. Don't think I've ever bought a bar of cinnamon soap. A natural colored bar with a swirl made using cinnamon powder looks awesome though.

I like clove and it blends well with orange, and you could add some of the other spices for a nice citrus spice.

I made cin soap( fo) and had a person break out! but only that one person complained, maybe it wasnt even the soap?

I've seen cinnamon leaf EO and clove leaf EO. Has anyone tried those? Could they be less irritating?

Does pure vanilla extract hold up in soap? I think (if it does) that would blend nicely with pie 'spice' EOs...

nope, do a search here, many others have asked/tried the same thing... :)

mine was $30 for a vanilla EO .5 oz and it has Jojoba in it... oh and it barely came out in the soap. totally not worth it!!
