Arrow Root - love/hate relationship

I've read that arrow root will help make M&P less tacky after it dries. I've tried it and like the feel it gives to the cut bar. However, I'm not happy how it makes the clear bars less shiny. I'm using a soft fluffy makeup brush and going over the bars very lightly. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
