Does anyone have a recipe for a gnat/mosquito repelling body spray that they would be willing to share?
I don't want to use oils or vodka as I see in some recipes I've found...witch hazel alone or with distilled water, maybe?
Need some help :)

What type of insects are you trying to repell. It makes a difference.

I know you don't want to use oils but I make a lotion bar and put Lavender, Citronella and cat nip oils in it. I can carry the bar in my purse and rub it on them when we go outside. The only thing it doesn't work on is Chiggers. I took the bar with me to Africa and used it and it worked. I slept in a mosquito net (with mosquito's flying around inside it...yes it's true) and not one bite. You can buy the essential oils already mixed from Bramble Berry called Bug Be Gone. I love my Bug bar!

you can use cyclomethicone as your base.. than add the essential oils. There's alot that are good for bugs... lemon eucalyptus is a good one, catnip, lavender... lots of them! Or just a body spray base and use the EO's for your repellent.
