get a bunch of virus pop up things from clicking on pictures hosted by image shack? I've had to clean my computer several times and have had pop ups saying it has caught potential threats. This probably happened 3 times this weekend. I'm not clicking on them anymore. lol

I see annoying ads pop up right on the picture, which I never noticed before.

What antivirus are you using? I use avast! free, and run Windows Onecare Live (free) from the microsoft website and I get no viruses, ever, even with all the game sites my kids go to that have a kagillion of them.

I know what you're talking about Amanda, I get them too. However, I have a good virus program that usually takes care of anything that might have found itself onto my computer. But I'm getting to the point where I'm not going to click on the images either, it always freaks me out.

Yup, I got them too! The one that tells you you are infected and pretends to be running a scan. No more clicking pictures!!!

Yes, 2x in the past week(that I know of) viruses at imageshack tried to infect my computer.

I've gotten those popups, too. They say my computer is infected (and I know it's not). Then I can't get the popups to close unless I reboot. It's infuriating. It also irritates me that they do resemble a Window Explorer dialog box. My guess is it's someone selling a antivirus/antispyware program. They get you to download and then tell say you have a bunch of infections and get you to buy the software to "clean up" your computer. I hate people using scare tactics to sell products. If the product was good enough, it would sell because of quality not because of manipulation.

I wonder if imageshack is even aware of the popups. I'm not sure how they work. In my opinion, if imageshack is aware of them and allowing it to happen then SMF needs to find a new image hosting site.

One popped up for me after I clicked a picture on the forum and it opened imageshack. Another time it popped up when I was trying to post a pic. There was a third time but I don't remember what I did.
