Amazoners in Michigan

Got this not so good news yesterday that starting tomorrow, October 1st, Amazon will add 6% sales tax for purchases by Michigan shoppers. So, I'm going to buy all the soapy stuff in my cart unless they have gone up in price already. Just thought I would let you know.

Awww, shucks. I didn't think about that with the new fulfillment center coming in. Sad day.

Well, having lived in places with much higher sales tax, I don't mind paying 6%. That is not that high, and MI really needs the jobs, and the tax revenue. I have no hope that it will go for fixing our crumbling infrastructure or any of the other things that are falling apart... but I can hope.

I read somewhere that this new mandate will bring in some real good money and if it supports Michiganders, it can't be bad. Nonetheless, I'm still making my purchase today.
