Has anyone ever used amaranth seeds in CP for scrubbies? I got some today for eating and they are so small and smooth, I though they would work great in place of poppy seeds. I'm really curious if they keep their nice creamy color or if they turn brown.
I might have to set aside a small bit of batter from my next batch for testing.

You could make soap with it but this is way cooler.
"Amaranth was a staple of pre-Colombian Aztecs, who imbued it with supernatural powers and made it part of their religious ceremonies. They would mix amaranth flour and human blood then shaped the dough into idols that were eaten in their well-known sacrificial ceremonies."

Oh no, you mean I've been doing it wrong? maybe we can put my blood cakes into a package with the fight club soaps...

There is allot of human fluids discussed on this forum. Maybe we should put together a human blood, breastmilk... gonna bail on finishing that as I am already getting the willies.

"Spiny amaranth has edible leaves and might be a medicine and sex aid"

I'm interested! :p

I obviously am very interested in whether or not this can be used in soap!

I plan on using some of the seeds in a test batch tomorrow. I'm trying a new brown colorant so I hope the light seeds will stand out nicely. Will also put some in unscented/uncolored to see if there is any changes.

I think it would be interesting to try.

just fyi, if you think about growing amaranth, be careful! that stuff spreads like weeds!

Yeah, I've grown love lies bleeding before, it really does reseed easy.

I made my seed soap this morning. I ended up using black walnut tea in place of water so all my batter is brown, the seeds show up pretty good though and I did a lighter swirl without seeds. I hope it ends up looking like I want.

Well I did find a Amaranth soap recipe, betting the oil might be hard to find though. Looks like just suggest raw seeds as well so I have high hopes for your soaps. Also not sure how comfortable I'm with "natural peeling effect".
