I haven't made much soap this month so felt the need to 'catch up' since I'm on vacation this week. Tested out a new Lush dupe of Avobath from FragranceBuddy which behaved very well . . . just hope it sticks around during cure.

So after reading this I had to go back and look for the birds and bats. I totally saw them!

So if a soap develops ash it's a function of the FO?
It's not always the FO but in certain cases that's all I can blame it on. Some folks have good luck spritzing the tops with rubbing alcohol which I did for this batch. Others say covering the top and cutting off the air supply helps reduce ash. I did both and still got ashy tops so go figure! I always get ash on my salt bars no matter what FO so it could be environmental conditions too.

Very pretty soaps. FB's Avobath sticks very well. Smells better than plain lemongrass.
