….And here's my first attempt at the july landscape challenge. It was a design I've been wanting to do for quite a while and I coincidentally had some annatto infused oil that had been sitting in my pantry for a year and needed to be used. I was already planning on doing a color experiment with the annatto oil and this seemed like the perfect combination!
I made 2 batches of soap at the same time (same recipe) one with 75% annatto infused oil and one with regular plain olive oil. I then poured out 1/3 of the colored batter into the mold, topped up the mixing container with white batter, mixed it in and poured out 1/3 again. Repeated that to make 6 layers of decending amounts of annatto oil (approximately 75%, 50%, 33%, 22%, 15%, 10%) Since the annatto oil had been sitting practically untouched for a year, the infusion was quite strong.
After gelling the soap, I cut and carved out the designs to fill them up with cp soap colored with activated charcoal. The designs were copied from images I found on google, I wanted to link them here but can't find them anymore, just know I didn't come up with them myself;)
Scented with an EO blend called 'Orchard Plow' contributed to EOcalc by Kenna, a fruity/floral/fresh/sweet blend of Lemongrass, Patchouli and Ylang Ylang.

And here's a very unfocussed picture of an end piece where the colors are better visible. Next to it is a confetti soap I made with leftover batter (10% annatto, not gelled) and some leftover soap carvings from the February soap stone challenge.

Thanks @earlene, I'm quite happy with how they turned out and they were very fun to make! I might actually try to remake these one day.. [emoji6]

Oh my goodness!!!! Those are spectacular!!!! What an amazing job you did....and I LOVE your official entry. The sky is my absolute favorite....very pretty...

Those are Incredible with a capital I! Absolutely stunning - well done!!

By the way, do you like the EO blend? It sounds intriguing. I've found great success with a lot of EOCalc's blends and have been meaning to start a post where people can discuss which ones they've tried/liked.

These are absolutely stunning! The sunset background is perfection. Makes me think of the Lion King. Incredible job!

@HowieRoll yes, I really like the scent! It's a bit heavy on the lemongrass, but the balance of fresh and sweet is quite nice. I like most of the blends I find on EOcalc and I think it's a great idea to start a thread to share experiences with the eo blends[emoji16]
@Deanna, while carving I caught myself humming the circle of life, so I decided to make one with pride rock as a kind of gimmick[emoji6]
