i took out a series of ads in national magazine targeted for vegan/vegetarians. it wasn't cheap, by any means and i got the smallest ad they had, cuz that's all i could afford ....or convince myself that i could afford....anyway i got an email from someone in chicago who is starting up 2 new natural products stores and he wants me to send him a brochure and samples. when i asked what quantity he was interested in, he said several cases

what is a case typically for soap, my understanding is that it could be anywhere from 12 -48 soaps per case. does anyone have any idea if there is a standard about that. also what is the cheapest way to get that quantity shipped texas to chicago??? anyone have any experience w/ sending that kind of quantity?

I haven't sent large quantities of soap, but I have sent heavy boxes and UPS ground was the lowest for heavy packages that I found.

I just wanted to case Congratulations , that is fantastic news . You have lots of shipping options once you decide on how many in a case . There are all kinds of calculators to choose from , once you know the size and weight of the box , you can get all that figured out pretty easily .
Here is just one example out of many . You can even print a label right from home .

I don't think there is a standard 'case'. 12 sounds more like a box though. If he was thinking 12, he would have said several dozen. I would ask him what he was meant by case or maybe put togther a few options w/ slight price differances.

48 in a case sounds good. 12 of 4 scents. 3 such 'cases' would make a nice start for his store.

I'd send him some free samples ASAP.

I'd expect a case to mean 24 or 48 bars. Look up U-Line for shipping supplies... http://www.uline.com/

Take your boxes to a Fedex Ground center (not a mom & pop shipping store). They are by far the cheapest out there.

hey, if all he said was a couple cases, i'd try to find the biggest cases you could!!   :D

thanks all for your suggestions and support. i was at office depot trying to select a nice looking paper to print my brochure on.....

i'll let you know the results.
