Do EO's have to be diluted before adding to soap mixture? I've always just added a few drops right to the soap before pouring into molds.

No need to dilute. You do use less EO PPO than you use FO. I use between .7 to a full 1 ounce of fragrance oils per pound of oils. When I use a EO, depending on which EO, I will use .4 to .7 ounce PPO. I also add my scents at very light trace. Sometimes I will add a bit of one of my oils in the recipe to the FO or EO before I add it at light trace, it helps to reduce the chance of acceleration or seizing on finicky FO's.

That's a great tip, thanks Paul! I just made my 3rd ever CP batch and felt the EOs accelerated trace somewhat - I think that is what happened - no probs though, poured okay and gelled really well :) So I will add a little reserved oil next time and see what happens then.

Tanya :)
