I made this soap a few days ago:
Coconut 58% (2000g)
Olive oil 25% (850g)
Cocoa Butter 4% (150g)
Shea Butter 2% (70g)
Lard 7% (250g)
Castor oil 4% (130g)

Oat milk (frozen) 1litre and 320ml water ( Ice cubes)
Lye 500g (discounted 13%, i.e. 13% super- fat)
25% (860g) Fine table salt added at light trace.

The original colour is a nice light ivory/ off-white.
I have added vanilla fragrant oil to some which I think made them too brown.
The other fragrant oils that I used include lime, mango, and herbal –balsam. I usually pour off about 1 litre into a jug and scent and pour that then do another jug and so on.

Mostly I used individual moulds which were more effective than the large mould (pictured) as the soap crumbled a somewhat when I tried to cut it, about 30 hours after pouring it into the mould.
It is quite hard but not as hard or as dense as a “genuine salt bar” (close to 100% coconut oil with a high percentage salt).
I know these bars should cure for much longer but I have tried them and they lather well, feel soft and smooth on the skin with lots of emollient qualities, so they are fine to use on the face and whole body. My wife finds that these do not “burn/sting” her genital area as the “genuine salt bar” which I have made in the past apparently tended to.

Looks like an impressive variety of colors and scents!

A hint for next time - if you make salt soap in a loaf, cut while it's still warm from gelling (use gloves!) as the soap can irritate at that stage.

However, the crumbling you experienced here seems to be very modest.

Beautiful soap (love the swirls) and the recipe looks good, too. There's another member who has a "regular" type recipe which she mentioned she used for salt bars. She uses tallow in it and said it had great lather. I'd forgotten about it until I saw your post. I've always made salt bars with at least 75% CO but now you have me interested in experimenting and trying a lower percentage. I didn't care for butters in salt bars but that's just me. I'm interested in hearing how you like your soap after curing.

Thanks for sharing!

That is an impressive array of soap..You have some great molds.

Nice soaps! I like your variety of molds too. I have an rectangle individual mold tray and it doesn't have the rounded edges like yours and I wish it did.
