I made a LOT of soap several years ago, but never did anything decorative with colors, layers, etc. Right about the time that I invested in big molds, fancy cutters, etc life happened and I closed up shop and quit making soap for about a decade. Thankfully I kept most of my equipment, especially my Tank! So now I'm picking up where I left off - learning how to make soap pretty :D

From left to right they are scented with The Perfect Man, Pleasures type, Cracklin Birch and Eucalyptus & Spearmint (all NG).

What's funny is, just after I had the black heart embeds poured so they would be ready for the pink/gray soaps I had planned for the next day, I saw almost the exact pink & black soap posted by someone else! I can't remember where though. Great minds and all ;)

(I'm not even going to mention that green soap on the end was supposed to have 3 distinct layers, white in the middle separated by mica lines.....because that would be embarrassing! lol)

Those are great, even with what you consider a mistake on the green one! They're so much better than anything I could turn out. I think I saw the same pink and black heart soap you did, and I can't remember where either. However, welcome back into the fold! So happy that life stopped happening to you so you could soap again! ;)

These are gorgeous @midnightsoaper! Respect.
My little guy has just turned 11 and has become quite self-sufficient in the past year. I have a much greater sense of freedom now that I'm not so 'in demand' all the time. I joke with him that I will be pleased when he's a teenager and sleeps in until mid-day, LOL ( at present he's a very early riser).

Love them all, even the soap on the end. It looks like stone, and I like that stone effect on soaps. Probably coz I end up with stone looking soaps even when I don't mean to lol

But seriously, they're all beautiful soaps :)

Thank you everyone!

When I stopped soaping was about the same time I started homeschooling my kids. The youngest two have just started public school (oldest is in college), so my days are wide open and I don't know what to do with myself. Why not soap?

It's almost midnight - shouldn't you be soaping? ;)

I mostly browse soapy stuff, plan batches or measure oils at mightnight these days, I'm too old and tired to mess with caustic materials in the middle of the night lol When I first started soaping though and the kids were little, that was the only time I had!

My sister said the same thing, looks like stone :D If only all of the uglies turned out unexpectedly decent. I should get a group photo of those soaps. That would be entertaining lol

Show us! Hahaha.. I'm not kidding when I say I like looking at "ugly soaps" and not because I can feel good about my pretty ones (I don't have those lol) but because more often than not I think the makers are bonkers and they're not ugly at all hehehe

Midnight Soaper, you need to post about 30 more times so you can partake of the February challenge- soap stones! You are made for it, turning out soap stones naturally.
@midnightsoaper, I second that! Do a bunch of posts and get into that contest!! I'm still glorying in my fourth place win from last November!
