Well, my soaping weekend is over. I take over the kitchen each Friday, but I have to
give it back each Sunday, so I clean up all my mess and you would never know that
it's a soapmaker's workshop.

Still rebatching some of that darned Chamomile (will it never end).

Made some cream-colored goat milk soap for a change & tried silk for the first time. Amazing how that stuff melts into the lye/water.

I'm looking forward to testing this bar:

I'll slice this one tomorrow--smells great with that double-dose of fragrance

None of my soap is old enough to package ....yet! Gotta figure out what to do--sorta thinking: kraft band, stuck with address label in back and card on front, shrink wrap bar, heck---not sure. I'll let ya know when/if I work it out. I do like the business cards though. I can make any label any size and import it into the www.avery.com online card-maker. It resizes it and sets up the setup...all I do is put card stock in the printer. 2 lbs soap = 10 bars and 1 sheet cards = 10 labels.

I never used lotion in soap before/either. I figured it had a lot of emulsifiers, etc. and would mix. I'll let ya know how it goes. It mixed-up the same as any other soap -- I used 3/4 cup lotion in 2 lb. batch.

What do I like better...the cards or the soap??? I'm so jealous! Everything is so gorgeous. I'm pouting at my failure today, but it's so good to see such beautiful soaps. I hope the lotion one is a dream. Great idea! Kudos! This is total soap ****!

Looks like you had loads of fun this weekend!!

Love both the soap and labels! :)

Your soaps are gorgeous (I'm green-eyed with envy right now) and the cards are so cute and savvy. I would definitely find a way to incorporate those cards into the packaging, or use the exact same artwork on a cigar band.
Extremely cool........

Thanks for the compliments everyone.
What is a cigarband? A thin strip of paper around the soap? or am I missing something?

I also need to learn about shrink-wrap/how to do it/supplies/is it okay for soap or does it cause problems? etc. Directions for more help would be appreciated.

Remind me to never take pictures of soap in the mold. That darned double-rose-jasmine has yellow, oily spots in it! I sliced it very thin and tried to hand-pick them all out. I finally rebatched all the chamomile/green soap -- looks like I'll be rebatching pink for quite awhile now. Oh well -- it's a dark pink and I think it will be even prettier with white swirls....ever onward.

You are correct on the cigar band.

As for the shrink wrap....you soap has to breath. It could also sweat and most often shrinks in the wrap if it is not completely cured. MP on the other hand HAS to be wrapped.

Lovely soap...I can't wait to hear an update on the lotion soap!

I am loving your work...I'm just salivating over your soaps, and the "Lucky Girl" label is BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!! It reminds me of a retro-70's/early 80's logo, which is just as cool as it gets!
