I'm a new soap maker, need a recipe for a 2 1/2 recipe for me to practice making soap flowers on top of a 2 lb. loaf. I only use olive, coconut oils and a little lard for my recipes. No butters as of yet. I need a little extra batter for the flowers. Would a 1/2 lb. be too much left over just to put flowers on top? Thanks so much!!

Take a recipe you've already tried and enter it into a soap calculator using the same percentages for the individual oils. Then adjust the total oil weight until it gives you a 2 1/2 lb batch.
I can't answer about how much batter you'll need to make flowers. I have no idea on that.
