So, I made my first pine tar soap this morning. I was laughing! It started out soooooo easy and fine and ended up like everyone else's - a mad dash to get it into the mold.

It's ended up hard as a rock, a little brittle. Here's the cut (yes, already)

Pine tar speeds up trace, to the point of making the soap batter firm in a matter of 30 seconds or so. Gotta move fast with it! I have slightly different recipe that uses about 12% pine tar and a mix of approximately same percentage of lard, CO and OO. Never had any issues with it except pouring it as soon as I mix in lye and hand stir for a short bit.
