1501 molds call for 28oz oils. When I put 33% water in soapcalc, it will make the batch too small to fill the molds. How many oz oils do I need to put in the calc to fill this mold?

Looking at the WSP website for the mold and the measurements 28 oz of oils is the right amount. Remember you will have water weight and lye weight added to the 28 oz.

But when I discount the water to 33% from 38%, it doesn't make enough soap to fill the mold. That's why I'm wondering how many more oz oils I need to add to the 28oz to put in the soapcalc oil spot to give me enough soap to fill the mold and not be short.

I've always made hp but am now trying to make some cp batches with the discounted water and it's not making enough soap to fill the molds. When you water discount, how much oil am do you add to your batch to make sure you have enough to fill your molds? That's where I'm messing up and confused about.

It would really depend on your recipe. If you have made a batch with 28 oz, and it didn't fill it, bump up the oil to 29 or 30 oz, and have some kind of small mold ready for anything extra you have. You can either grate extra for soap balls or confetti, or make small sample/hand soaps.

I answered you up further, you may not have seen it. When using that mold and soaping at a 33% lye solution, I use 29 oz of oils to fill that mold :)

Thanks yall. Just made it home and saw the replies. Haven't been on here much lately and I hope everyone has been well. :)
