Here's pics of my very first attempt at CP soap. I admit, I am already a soap junkie! I can't wait to get my supplies so I can have even more fun! There is nothing like the feeling of being productive, and ending up with a completely usable item! I'm in love already...

I have copied the links, because I can't work out how to make my pictures appear as pictures. Sorry :(

Here are the links:

Thanks Relle... It blends out the 'blah', LoL

Hazel, I think I used 15mls. My soap bar is just over 500grams. And yes, I should have written the exact amount I used down! It isn't enough FO, I know... But we live and learn :) Just another excuse to make another batch ;)

Your soaps look amazing Dotty ... well done!

I use between 30 gma and 40 gm of most FOs in my 1500 gm oil soaps ... and that amount is fine. Maybe your FO is a mild one.

Welcome to our cp addiction!

Addiction it is! I'm chomping at the bit to make more, but I'm trying to research Titanium Dioxide, so I can make a white batch...

Thanks for the comments everyone!

I don't think that's too little of amount depending on the strength of the FO and on whether you want the scent to adhere to your skin after rinsing. That amount is close to what I use for a couple of FOs but they're very strong. Normally I would use between 24 ml to 30 ml (.8 to 1 oz ppo) but that's just personal preference. Someone else might think that's not enough fragrance.

I agree with Relle. Your soap looks very professional. If you hadn't said it was your first batch, I would have thought you had been making soap for years. It's not dumb to be smiling about it. If I had one that looked that nice, I'd be smilling, too. :D

Thanks Hazel.

I was a candle maker before I decided to try my hand at soaping. I think I had sensory overload with all the fragrances from my candle time, that now I'm a bit 'immune' to scent!

Hubby likes the smell of the soap so far, so it must smell like something, LoL :)

Maybe try taking a sniff of the soap right after you take a hot shower. I know for me that opens me up so I can smell better after being around so many scents at once.

Wow, dotty. I'm really impressed!! That is your first batch of CP? It looks like you've been soaping for ages. :) Kinda jealous... lol

That was my first batch, yes. I've done my 2nd and will post pics soon. I've done heaps of research, been to the moon and back in confusion and then done so more reading....

This forum is the best, and is very inspiring!

Thanks Lyn. You give me my inspiration, and actually were my 'drive' to try my own hand at soaping. So... I BLAME YOU!

I bought that stamp from the Bay, and have another one on it's way. I think you have them both. I dare not look at Bebe stamps! I can imagine...

Maybe one day if I get good enough, I'll have a personalised stamp made. So until then, I'll just dabble with the 'generics' out there.
