Has anyone who makes tarts ever used palm pillar wax mixed with Soy? If so, do you still get somewhat of a feathery/granite look? Not happy with the hot throw on tarts with just the plain palm wax. TIA

TO SALT BAR MAKERS: I have a question for any of you. After your salt bars are cured, are they supposed to be left unwrapped to breath, wrapped with the ends exposed either with a shrink band or a cigar band wrapper or wrapped in cello or shrink wrap like M&P? Can't seem to find any info...

I've got almost 10 lbs. of canning salt and wondered if I could use this in my salt bars when I make them? From what I can see after researching, it would be OK but just wanted opinions form those who have already made salt bars. TIA

Thank you everyone for your thoughts. I'm still on the fence as to whether or not I want to discontinue using Palm?? I have yet to have anyone question my use of Palm but my concern is the environmentalists. I guess I'll just play it by ear for now but if I decide to change, it'll be after...

Are there many of you who have discontinued using Palm Oil in your soap recipes? What's your honest opinion on this? If you've switched, what do you think is the best substitute oil? I've been researching but undecided as to whether I want to drop Palm or not and if so, what to use...
