Can you mince soap? I want to rebatch

I have electric and hand, but seeing how much easier the electric one is on meat I think I will use the electric. It will save about an 30 mins of cranking!

Can you mince soap? I want to rebatch

I wasn't think of using it on a soft soap, only one I have lying around. I believe that mincer is the british word - grinder is probably the US equivalent. Not sure when I will get round to it but I'll try to post when I eventually get it done.

Can you mince soap? I want to rebatch

I want to try rebatching a soap and wondered what would happen if you put soap through a meat mincer. will it grind up into very small particles or clump and clog up the mincer? I guess that the small bits will be better to rebatch than if I only grated it. Also do you use less fragrance in a...

    Creamy, tiny, long lasting bubbles?

I have tried a recipe like this and it produces nice creamy lather., but I think it might be the coconut oil which causes the problem with the bubbles bursting too fast. I will give it another go maybe. I haven't tried with clay for a while.

    Creamy, tiny, long lasting bubbles?

I am trying to create a soap for shaving and I am failing every time. Unfortunately I don't have great quantity of ingredients available to me in Poland but I'm sure I can import something. I can't find palm oil, which I would like, so most of my soaps are using olive, coconut and castor oil...

    Hot process = stinky soap

Some essential oils do not stay fragrant in the soap very well so sometime you need other ingredients that stop the reaction. I am using a fair amount of essential oils - about 5/6 tsp per kg of oil. I am not using lard or tallow at the moment - only olive, castor and coconut - and one batch...

    Hot process = stinky soap

Every time I try a hot process I end up with a stinky soap and I don't know if it is the essential oils i used(which do not seem to impart any aroma to the soap at all) or something else. I always use a double boiler so I don't burn it. That is about all I know. So far I am giving up with HP...

    Limited by common ingredients

Thanks for the huge numbers of suggestions here! I really appreciate the help. I feel kind of stupid now because I went to a shop to get breakfast this morning and just went to check the oils and as I expected there was nothing special, but I went around the corner and found a small oriental...

    Limited by common ingredients

Thanks for the ideas - I will give castor oil a go first as it is the most available to me. Most other oils I would need to order from Germany and UK, which is a pain to be honest. I did have a really nice soap base before but it relied on coconut and palm oil with the olive so I was stuck for a...

    Limited by common ingredients

I am living in Poland at the moment which has put a stop to my soapmaking for a while due to translation problems and lack of equipment but now I have a good set of scales(a birthday present from the other half) and should start up soon. I just have a problem finding the right ingredients...
