    Oily soap, even after rebatch

I used 1 oz of FO in a total of 32 oz of oils. I thought ricing looked like small white balls in the soap? This didn't have that... it looked sort of like the photo in this post, but all one color. http://soapmakingforum.com/forum/viewto ... =oily+soap I assume it's the FO, but I thought...

    Oily soap, even after rebatch

I'm a newbie soaper, but I would like to find out what causes a dud batch so I can avoid making the same mistakes in the future. I made a scented bar of soap. I used 30% coconut oil, 40% olive oil, 10% shea butter, 20% coco butter, and vanilla spice FO at a 5% SF. When I added my FO, the...

Time for me to learn how to rebatch!!

What was the cause of this problem? I made soap yesterday and when I went to unmold it today, I found that it had separated badly. Bad batch - soap smells like yeast, help!

Thank you, I will give it some weeks to cure and then see what happens. My first thought was that it wouldn't be too bad if it smells like bread, but then I realized that it's the yeast which gives bread it's distinctive smell and all I could think of was getting yeast infections from the soap. :o

Bad batch - soap smells like yeast, help!

I have just totally screwed up a batch of soap and I'm not sure what I can do to salvage it or if I need to just toss it. It was my second attempt at a goats milk, oat, and honey bar. My first batch turned out well, except that I used a fragrance oil and allowed it to get too hot, so it is...

    Something Strange happened

I have this happen every time I use a specific cold process recipe. But, while it looks crazy at first, I don't touch it and the next day when I go to unmold, it has always settled back down into a flat top. Maybe it happens more than you realize, but because you had the soap uncovered, you...
