Hello, I'm brand-new to this forum and to soapmaking. I am making my first batch of soap from soap scraps that I'd grated or cut up. I had 20 ounces of scraps and added 12 ounces of water -- clearly that was way too much, because rather than looking like mashed potatoes, it's more like thick-ish...
