    Loving this one

Extremely happy with this loaf. I call it Pink Sand. Next time I’ll cut up the sunflower petals smaller. Cashmere FO which I knew would accelerate but I was ready for it and knowing that was able to do a cool textured top. Did a purple mica pencil line. A friend of mine made me an amazing 5lb...

Of course! I’ll will be doing another loaf this weekend. The colors are nice. I was so excited for this one but not how I planned obviously. lol. But that’s ok. I’ll chalk it up to experience and a learning curve.

    So hello finally…

Here is the cut loaf. It’s very slick and oily. I saw a small bit of oil slide out with each cut. So I shall let it sit (forever) and see if it gets hard

    So hello finally…

After looking at it when I got home today I’ve decided to wait a bit longer before I slice it up to bars. Fyi

    So hello finally…

I think you are correct. I only weighted out 4.68 of the 50/50 not the 9.36. It didn't click cause that number was missing, not a mistake I will be making twice. So not enough lye. ****! Everything else was weighed out perfectly. Other than I lessened the EO but never wrote it...

    So hello finally…

I think something happened when I calculated for the water to show up NaN.undefined. I was very secure on my water/lye ratio which is why I think I did not notice it. I was focused on the oil measurements. That said it won't slip by me again. I tried to duplicate the recipe to see if it...

    So hello finally…

I will check it again when I get home today. It still had some squish to it last night. Went ahead and did the OP this morning when I got up. So we will see how it looks later.

    So hello finally…

4.68 of lye 4.68 of water 4.68 of aloe Yes I did the OP at 5 am this morning. So I’ll check it when I get home home work It was 4.68 of lye/4.68 of water (for the 50/50 batch) and 4.68 of the Aloe Juice so that its a 2:1 ratio.

    So hello finally…

My usual measurements for EO is max of 52grams. But usually less. I did end up putting less EO than it said cause it seemed like too much. But did not write it down. I pulled it out of the wood mold to see if the side were holding up yesterday then put it back. And yes most of the other bars I...

    So hello finally…

I’ve just been watching and waiting but I thought I should ask more experienced soapers their thoughts…so here I am. Lol Hahaha

    So hello finally…

Would it still be ok to OP since I actually made it this past Sunday?

    So hello finally…

Still very soft. Oils seem to be snails pace absorbing. When I touch it it does seem to pool as much. Should I leave it? Just see what happens? Or toss?
  19. T

    So hello finally…

Yes I master batch. But I do a 2:1 ratio so the extra “water” was aloe juice. Which I thought gave me my 2 I tend to do ounces on that part so I did 4.68 oz of lye 4.68 oz of water 4.68 oz of aloe juice

    So hello finally…

Hello, I’ve been stalking this forum for awhile now and finally decided to join. Little about me I am all into the natural making of things and a big do it myself-er. I forage for plants, grow my own medicinal flowers, infuse my own oils with them and plants. Make my own tinctures, salves...
