Minimalistic and Natural: Masculine Scents With Lasting Power (Is it Possible?)

I make beard balms and other slaves etc. I have gone down this rabbit hole a lot. The science of scent and fragrance is rather intriguing and quite extensive. A good place to start is Aftelier perfumes. https://www.aftelier.com/Aftelier-Natural-Perfume-Wheel-p/wb-wheel.htm If you are wanting...

Lotion addatives to help with itching

I am unsure if you can add this to a lotion but lanolin helps me a lot. I get dry cracked skin in the winter unless I use a salve that contains lanolin. The salve I make has pine resin infused tallow, lanolin, cupuacu butter, emu oil, and jojoba butter. At some point I'll probably experiment...

    Drawing Salve

Made a drawing salve the other day. I usually make beard balms but since we live in a farm bug bites, slivers, etc are a way of life!

Is there an app like Soapcalc for body, face and hair creams and oils?

Look up the app Airtable and the template GOYA. It's a fantastic resource

    Resin soap

I use resins in my soaps all the time. I try to use the resins instead of the essential oils. There is debate about whether the beneficial aspects of a resin actually come out in the essential oil, especially with frankincense. Depending on what you are using, the resins are either wholly oil...

    Question about hot process

I have a 6 quart and I usually only do 500 gram (oil weight) at a time. It has plenty of room. I could honestly probably triple it. **Edit: I do hot process soap.**

    Fat washing vinegar

Here is a small update on this. It has obviously been longer than a month since I started aging the vinegar with oak lol. Life happened and time got a way from me so today I will put the myrrh resin in the vinegar and begin that infusion process. Stay tuned!

    Kitchen Cleaner

I am unsure where to post this but I am attempting to make a homemade kitchen cleaner. This is what I am doing. I would love some feedback. Infusing white vinegar with different herbs. The herbs I am using are rosemary, thyme, mint, lemon balm, orange peel, pine needles. Cedar leaves, yarrow...

    Milkfat

We raise dairy goats and the milkfat that is separated is what is used to make the butter. The milkfat does go through a mechanical process (think a butter churn) to make it solidify so it definitely undergoes a change. The smell from butter or ghee could be from using too much or it could be...

    Hot Process Soap Recommendations

I think it was definitely the molasses. I did a second batch and added it at the very end and it was a lot better. I think the lanolin contributed to it some as well.

    2nd Attempt at Hot Process

That's a great point about the alkalinity and the metal. I just wanted to be sure it was getting a lot of airflow. I have a large silicone mat I can use. Thanks for that insight!
