    Watermelon Modified Luna Swirl

So, first off, I really love the FO on this. I used BB Watermelon Sugar and it behaved very well. Didn't slow down trace but did not accelerate it. I used nurture soaps force of nature for the neon green, mad micas flirt with a smidgen of NS material girl, Snake island and Winter White. I didn't...

    Rain drops

I think this is considered a drop swirl but had fun doing this. I used BB Coastal rains FO and spilt the batter into 4 equal parts. I used Mad Micas Snow white, Aphrodite, Twilight Blue and Peacock for the colors. Didn't do a good job of beating down the mold after everything was poured so...

    Beeswax in Soap

I am getting some bees this Saturday, super excited to start my bee keeping journey. I am trying to think of some ways to incorporate some beeswax or honey potentially into some soap. Now from what I have been reading seems like there's some mixed reactions to it. I was thinking of adding...

    Delicate swirl

Really like how this turned out. I need to make a light box asap. I'm using the noon sun and everything looks more yellow than it really is. The pink isn't washed out and yellow are more subtle in person. Used BB Pink Grapefruit, Mad Micas Ballet slipper(10% batter), Bright yellow rain coat...

    Business Name

I am having a hard time thinking of a business name. I had one that I liked but I've had mixed reactions to it. My mom's and others input was that it should be something where people knew it was soap related right off the bat based off the name but really can't think of something original that...

    Insurance

From what I have been reading, it seems like the best thing to do instead of getting an LLC is to do a DBA and get a good insurance. Correct me if I am wrong on that. I'd like to start selling my excess soap, I really don't want to deal with the hassle or price of a LLC. Can anyone recommened...

    Watercolor

I followed I dream in soaps watercolor technique video. Used Mad micas sexy stranger on a train, voodoo, tangerine dream with a smidgen of brazen hussy, lettuce entertainment you and smidgen of radioactive, nutures soap winter white. The FO is BB's Bali Breeze. Had fun doing this one but was a...

    Terrazzo Soap

I love how this turned out! And the FO is 5 stars. Been wanting to try it out for years. This was a two day process for me. I split my recipe in half and did a hanger swirl with a chopstick. It was scented with Bramble Berry's Morrocan Mint Tea. The colorants used were from mad micas and...

    3rd Attempt at an ombre

This is the closest to what I have been trying to get for a more seamless ombre that I envisioned in my head. I used BB lush succulent FO and Mad Micas Astro, Nuture soaps Winter white, Mad micas fairy duster in sparkle me aqua for tops. I over blended my batter so only a quarter way through...

    Double Lavender

This is my second attempt at an ombre soap and really wanted to use a purple colorant. I used Mad micas I dream of purple and Nutures soap winter white. The winter white is really easy to predisperse in oil and not get white spots. For the fragrance oil I used BB Lavender 40/42 essential oil...

    3 Year Hiatus Batch

I haven't made any soap in the last 3 years. After the last of my ingredients arrived last night I had to make a batch. I definitely cut it too early and overlooked adding sodium lactate and sodium citrate like I wanted to out of excitement. I scented it with BB Spiced Mahogany and used...

    Canola oil sub

Are there any oils that have similar properties to canola in soap making? I knew some people were iffy about lard but had no clue they also do not like canola. Is there any reasons to not soap with canola?

    Resize batch help

I'm looking to buy a smaller mold that holds 32 ounces total. At 33% lye concentration, how many ozs of oil should I use? My current batch size usually is 35 oz of oil at 33% lye concentration. I'm bad at math. How does that recipe look? Any recommened changes?
