I bought 4 of those molds but sadly got so frustrated I went back to my loaf molds. Mine wouldn't full gel either but I was more bothered by how much soap I was losing from overheating. I'd lose a few lbs. of soap from each batch.

I realize it isn't a powder but I like red palm oil at 1-2% for a natural yellow color.

I have been making 50 lbs. batches for a wholesale account. I am getting by with my current scale but a larger capacity would be nice.

Have you tried any of the scales on that site Dorymae?

Can anyone recommend a scale that has a capacity over 20 lbs? I currently use the KD8000 and I really like it but I need a scale that can handle a little more weight. Thanks in advance.

Eight pounds is a lot of soap if you aren't sure you love the recipe. Maybe try 2 pound batches until you find the perfect soap recipe for you so you won't waste precious soaping resources :)
