    So, I've been in the process for getting a new house and I haven't been able to make any soap :( I have castor, coconut, palm, and olive oil from about a year ago.. I did the smell test and well the olive oil and castor oil smell funny... but the palm and coconut don't smell like the olive...

    Cleaning up between batches

    I clean up after every batch. I know some books say to wait the next day, but I hate having a mess in my kitchen. I usually just wipe excess soap with some old rags (which I rinse off in a slop sink and throw into a bucket to be washed), rinse with vinegar/water mixture, then wash and let dry. :)

    I purchase my lye from Bitter Creek Candle Supply. http://cart.candlesupply.com/product.php?productid=20168&cat=0&page=1 The only problem is that you have to order the same amount of other products in order to buy from them, but I've found that they are the cheapest for lye and shipping...
