Size of bars and soap box

My dad made me a soap box, its 9 1/4" long, 3 1/4" wide and 3 1/2" deep. I am cutting my bars in 1" pieces. The bars seem huge. What is the standard size for a bar? My bars are very square and are too bulky to use. Any other suggestions?

Thank you I remember seeing that same answer on the other post. I think my oil was too hot when I mixed it with the milk and lye. I was able to put most of the soap in another mold (that I was intending to use to make another batch so hopefully I was able to save it and maybe get another...

    Problem batch

The goat's milk soap was very cold. After adding the lye I checked the temp and it was only around 100. I added the lye very slow (it took about 20 mins). Thank you for the temp about adding the oil at trace. This was a recipe I found online so I will try it again without adding the oil at trace.
